The Department of Education Policy and Leadership at Southern Methodist University (SMU) invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership. This is a non-tenure track, ten-month contract, with the possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching coursework in our doctorates of education (EdDs) in both PK12 and Higher Education as well as masters programs in both areas. The candidate should also be able to teach applied quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. The successful candidate will also serve as a chair and advisor for EdD dissertations, provide writing and research support to graduate students, and engage in service to the EPL department.

Position Requirements:
Earned doctorate in educational administration, leadership, policy, higher education or related field.
Experience teaching a range of content- and methods-focused courses at the doctoral and master’s level, particularly quantitative and qualitative research methods with a focus on applied research.
Experience advising and/or chairing dissertations for students seeking education leadership doctorates (EdDs) across both PK12 and Higher Education program areas.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusiveness.
Experience facilitating adult learning in informal and formal settings.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have expertise or experience teaching courses in two or more of the following areas: Academic Leadership, Organizational Change, Literature Review, Research Design, Assessment and Evaluation, Data Management and Visualization.
A cover letter highlighting the candidate’s interest and qualifications for the position, with specific reference to advising and supporting students in applied doctoral research and teaching methods courses in quantitative and qualitative methods.
