Position Summary:
The Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology at Florida Atlantic University’s College of Education invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor tenure-track position with a focus on Higher Education. Successful candidates are expected to have a focused research agenda, preferably with a strong quantitative methodology, and teach classes in the master’s and doctoral programs. Additionally, the successful candidate is expected to work collaboratively with the higher education leadership faculty on recruitment, retention, and alumni relations. The successful candidate will advise and mentor primary Ph.D. degree students.
We seek candidates who will work collaboratively and ethically with other faculty, staff, and students within the department, college, and university to promote the mission and goals of the department. This 9-month faculty appointment will begin August 2025. Opportunities for summer employment may be available.

College of Education (COE)
The College of Education (COE) at FAU is one of the most diverse in Florida’s State University System. The COE is home to five academic departments: Counselor Education, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership and Research Methodology, and Special Education. The COE offers 37 undergraduate and graduate degree programs and nine certificates. The faculty is comprised of over 80 full-time faculty, instructors, and adjuncts. COE faculty maintain robust research and service agendas, contributing to their field of study, the university, local and national communities.
Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology (ELRM)
The Department is comprised of faculty in three program areas: Higher Education Leaders, School Leaders, and Research Methodology. The Higher Education Leadership Program offers degrees in: Undergraduate Leadership Studies Minor, M.Ed. degree and Ph.D. degree.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate courses in higher education leadership; serve as the coordinator of the Higher Education Leadership master's program and expected to work collaboratively with the Higher Education Leadership faculty on recruitment, retention, and alumni relations; participate in all meetings and assigned committees related to the Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology; work collaboratively and ethically with other faculty, staff, and students within the department, college, and university, while promoting the mission and goals of the department and the teaching profession; and maintain an active research and scholarship agenda in higher education.

Minimum Qualifications:
Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Higher Education or related field.
Record of scholarly work in the field of higher education.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with students from diverse backgrounds using innovative instructional approaches and methods.
Teaching experience in higher education using multiple technologies to deliver (Fully Online course delivery, hybrid courses and face-to-face instruction)
Experience and engagement with scholarly associations that align with the advancement and study of higher education.
Desired Qualifications
Research agenda and teaching philosophy should demonstrate knowledge and expertise in higher education
Evidence of competency quantitative methodology.
Expected to integrate evidenced-based practices to create teaching and learning opportunities that support the development of content and pedagogical knowledge in higher education leadership
Knowledgeable about and ability to facilitate students’ critical engagement with current trends in higher education leadership, student affairs, policy, and practice.
